This notice explains what personal information What do you do!? currently processes, why it is processed, and how to contact us about it. Last updated: 12 April 2026.

What do you do!? is a free South African career-exploration tool available at https://whatdoyoudo.co.za. For current purposes, it operates as a private body / sole proprietorship.

2. What we process
The site is intentionally set up to collect very little personal information.
At the time of this notice, the main categories are:
The site does not currently offer user accounts, logins, public user profiles, or newsletter sign-up.
3. Analytics
What do you do!? currently uses Umami analytics to understand aggregate site usage and high-level interaction patterns such as page views, navigation clicks, quiz progression, saving to “My list”, opening resource links, and sharing actions.
The current Umami setup does not rely on analytics cookies. It is used to help improve the product, prioritise work, and understand what is being used.
Based on the current Umami account setup, analytics data is processed in Europe.

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the site, such as analytics, hosting, delivery, or security providers, but only to the extent necessary for those services.
Because the current analytics setup uses a European data region, some information related to site usage may be processed outside South Africa.

The site uses your browser’s local storage to remember preferences and in-progress usage choices on your device. This includes:
This data is stored on your own device until you clear it, remove it through your browser, or overwrite it by using the site.
7. Retention
We aim to keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for site security, to respond to correspondence, or to comply with legal obligations.
Browser-side local storage remains on your device until you remove it. Email correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the issue raised or keep a record of the exchange.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for access to personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, or raise a complaint.
